Mail Settings Overview
The Mail Settings page is where you can see details regarding the email service you are using with the Black Pearl Mail app.
Step 1. Enable branding and signatures
- A - Show's which email service is connected to you Black Pearl Mail account
- B - List any outbound gateways you might use outside of your primary email service. If you would like to relay email via Black Pearl Mail from outbound gateways (other than Office 365), you need to specify the IP addresses here. We will only relay outbound mail from gateways that have been authorized. If you have more than 1 IP address, separate them with a comma and/or use CIDR notation.
- B - Stop Black Pearl Mail branding - What does this do?
- C - Black Pearl Mail has stopped offering free trials
Step 2. Add domains (optional)
If you have any other domains with which you send email, then add them here before you enable branding and signatures. Black Pearl Mail only accepts email from the domains that you authorize here.
Step 3. Add SPF record (recommended)
An SPF record makes sure the emails you send don’t get treated as spam. It is a type of DNS record and takes 5 minutes to setup on your domain(s) for the person who has access to change the domain settings. This step is not required right now, but it is highly recommended. For instructions to change your SPF record, go here.
Domains that have a SPF valid record will have a check mark under Validation. For domains that do not have a SPF or a valid SPF, it will say No SPF record and we list what the SPF record should be so you can add it to you DNS settings.
